"Dude What's My Job?" Who Are Millennials?

This two-part course has been pre-approved for 1 HR Recertification Credit Hour through the HR Institute.

Millennials (born between 1981-2000) are infiltrating the workforce, while managers and older generations are scrambling to understand and work with this unique crowd. Millennials are the newest group of employees in the workplace, and they happen to be different. Not good different and not bad different—just different. The phrase, "What is up with the new hires?" isn't a new one, but with millennials there seems to be an entirely new set of challenges and opportunities, and you want to ensure you set a solid foundation from the start.

Through interactive exercises, participants finish this engaging course knowing what makes Gen Y tick, their assets, liabilities, communication preferences, and top motivators. Importantly, they will understand how millennials fit with the other generations.

The Good, Bad, & Ugly: Giving and Receiving Feedback at Work

The majority of professionals cringe when it comes time for evaluations, self assessments, and even everyday feedback. Unfortunately, some managers communicate only when there is a problem, so employees tend to view feedback in a negative light. Lack of communication contributes to 80% of workplace issues. These statistics show that constant communication and ongoing feedback are critical to well-functioning and high-performing individuals, teams, and organizations.

In this course, participants learn how to speak assertively and deliver constructive criticism, while also understanding how to receive feedback openly and grow professionally from the experience. Individuals gain tangible tips and guidelines for taking the fear out of feedback and making it a smooth, safe, and ongoing process.
