Half Day | 8-24 Participants | Mentors/Mentees
A strong mentorship program can boost employee retention, build better leaders, and attract recruits - all while providing a fun, development experience for mentors and mentees alike. With all of that said, it is one thing to have a mentorship program, and quite another to have an effective mentorship program where everyone is engaged, focused, and consistent.
In this half-day workshop, the presenter offers key tips for both mentors and mentees so they can kick off the program with success and confidence. Mentors learn how to be a good coach, provide structure, maintain confidentiality, and offer guidance without giving answers. Mentees learn how to set goals, seek an outside perspective, and develop without asking for answers. All participants discuss what makes a good relationship and the importance of maintaining a mentee-driven mentorship program. Nerves are settled through lively discussion, sticky scenarios, active role playing, and fun examples from the big screen. Everyone leaves the workshop at ease and ready to kick off a successful relationship.
Participants leave this session with the ability to:
- Build a strong mentorship relationship that is guided by goals and directed by the mentee
- Initiate a mentorship relationship that is founded upon the principles of trust and communication
- Establish and discuss clear boundaries in a mentorship relationship as to not go above or behind a manager
- Understand expectations and roles in the program
- Offer guidance, NOT answers to mentees in an effort to push, challenge and expect greatness
- Take on the role of a mentor/mentee with confidence and enthusiasm
This hands-on workshop helps mentors and mentees kick off a mentor relationship with ease and confidence.
