Performance management seems to cast a cloud of apprehension and anxiety over the heads of both the employees and managers alike.  In theory, performance management can be quite a powerful tool for developing our most valuable assets - our people.  Yet more often than not, the process is dreaded by both HR/managers and employees.  What should be an opportunity is simply a formality.

In this workshop, the presenter discusses how to take performance management to the next level to make it a genuine, personalized and worthwhile experience for every employee.  The presenter discusses what performance management is and isn’t and evaluates various tools and methods to design and implement a performance management system in every organization.  The presenter covers planning strategies for writing and conducting performance evaluations, collection data about an employee’s performance, establishing goals, implementing coaching, and using year-round feedback to enhance the performance of every employee.

Participants leave this program with the tools to:

  • Prepare a performance management template that is aligned with business strategy 
  • Identify how to address areas for improvement on an ongoing basis 
  • Integrate personalized goal setting into the performance management process 
  • Keep track of employee progress on an ongoing basis through data gathering, observation and documentation so that compiling the performance evaluation isn’t an overwhelming and timely process 
  • Convey the information in the written performance evaluation assertively 
  • Organize logistics like timing and location and identify any potential pitfalls in advance
